DIY- Hippie Style

Igen, megint. A nyáron ismét hódít a HIPPIE stílus. Ötletek: (jobb klikk, kép megjelenítése)
There’s nothing more expressive than music and fashion…and when the two collide, inspiration and excitement thrive.  If you’re lucky enough to attend this weekend’s Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, swing by Gap’s late-night “Be Bright At Night” event to get crafty and personalize tees. Grab bold paints, patterns, stencils and more to discover why T-I-Y is the new D-I-Y! Whether you’re attending a music fest or rockin’ out to your own playlist at home, get into the Summer DIY spirit by grabbing a Gap Favorite Tee and create an Aztec print inspired look. Cut up kitchen sponges in various sized triangles, dip into fabric paint and stamp your heart out. P.S.- plan out your pattern before you start on a piece of paper or fabric scrap.  Let dry completely, and then you’re ready to live by the words of The Beach Boys…”T-Shirts, cut-offs and a pair of thongs - we’ve been having fun all Summer long”.
Be bold. Be you. Be jeweled! Our friends at Who What Wear and I agree that there’s no limit to the amount of sparkle you can put in your step this season.  Footwear, accessories, and everyday denim are getting a luxurious twist, as seen in Christopher Kane’s collection for J Brand, which is popping with outrageous patterns and overstated pizzazz.  It’s time to take last year’s ordinary cutoffs to the cutting edge!  To create:  Start with your favorite pair of jean cutoffs.  Use a ruler and a pencil to create a grid pattern - size of grid and spacing depends on your preference (our lines are approx 1/2 an inch a part).  Use a pencil to draw grid and then trace over with white puffy paint.  Once dry use a real or fake flower to dip in fabric paint to create a stamp. Stamp the flower shape directly onto shorts in an alternating pattern.  We used about 9-10 stamps per each side of short. Once paint is dry use fabric glue to secure large paillette sequins to the center of each “flower” shape.  Once all are in place and dry then glue the larger flat back gems to the center of each sequin.  Finally secure the smaller gems between each “flower” shape. (Approximately 5-6 per side).  Allow to completely dry before wearing. 
Nothing’s more radiant than a little gradient, so fade into Spring and tone up your wardrobe with a look that’s anything but shady. The ombre trend has spread from tresses to dresses, as seen in this season’s to-dye-for designs from Band of Outsiders, Theyskens’ Theory and  Margiella.  Tell your own short story by adding a splash of color to j’amazing lace!   To create:  Start at the hem of your shorts and spray black fabric paint about four inches up. Add extra coats of paint closer to the hem, keeping the top clean and paint-free. Use a piece of paper to repel and block paint as you work your way up. Continue spraying, concentrating more on the bottom, until you achieve the desired ombre effect. Repeat on the reverse side, then hang until completely dry. P.S.- I DIE for DIP DYE!  This season it’s all about white denim.  Summer’s must-have is also a must-make!  My friends over at WHO WHAT WEAR and I knew we had to get involved and spread the word on this denim DIY wonderfulness.  P.S.- Get excited! To create: Grab a pair of denim shorts. (loving my Levi’s).  Wear plastic gloves to protect your hands and create bleach solution, mixing two parts water and one part bleach in a plastic bucket.  Prepare your shorts by threading a ruler through the belt loops (or use any long item to rest across bucket).  Dip the shorts into the liquid, to the desired depth, and rest the ruler on the top of the bucket where they will hang in the solution.  Leave the shorts soaking for approx 30 minutes. P.S.- the bleach will run a tad, so be sure to leave an additional few inches. After the bleach has turned the shorts the desired white shade (this may take a few dips), remove and soak in your sink or bathtub with two parts water and one part vinegar for approx. five to ten minutes, to stop the bleaching process. Let the shorts dry completely and cut to desired length. For a more distressed look, pull along the edges of the shorts.  Wash and dry the shorts alone for the first time.  After that, you’re good to go for future washes with you summer whites!
Friends are Flowers you pick for yourself, and I’m lucky to say that I’m blessed with the worlds most amazing bouquet of besties! Actions speak louder than words, so don’t just tell your friends how much they mean to you, show them! My friends at WHO WHAT WEAR and I agree that the demand for colorful and cool friendship bracelets using the COBRA stitch are back in a major way! I’ve been drawn to MARNI’S take on the friendship bangle creation for quite some time. Get inspired and get involved. Create chic BFF bracelets that represent the color your clan brings into your life. Everyone needs that reminder as well as a new accessory from time to time… make a note, and make a bracelet. To create: Cut 3 pieces of ribbon or colorful rope (12” for base, Ribbon A & B approx 1 yard). Fuse together the ends of the 2 colors of ribbon with a small drop of glue. Do not start using ribbons, until completely dry. Tape down the shorter, center ribbon, to a steady and flat surface. To begin with the Cobra stitch, use Ribbon A, and cross over the center (base ribbon) making a loop. Bring Ribbon B under the tail and through Ribbon A’s loop. Once knotted through, pull Ribbon A & B equally, that will knot around base ribbon. Continue pattern and alternate the lead Ribbon from side to side. PS- If your pattern starts to go Spiral, that means you knotted on the same side and should un-do, and start on the alternate side. Once you have a Cobra pattern that is long enough for a bracelet, double knot ends, trim and tie off for a Chic Cobra Bracelet. Brave your Bestie on your wrist for a bold accessory, but more importantly- a blissful reminder of your BFF. PS- Check out MORE J’amazing versions of friendship bracelets on WHO WHAT WEAR!
Safety is the name of the game when it comes to all things Fashion and Designer DIY.  Right now delicate metallic safety pins are all I can think about.  They are truly a marriage of fashion and function for all.  Versace’s Verses, Vena Cava, Moschino, Marc Jacobs and Tom Binns all look to the safety pin to adorn apparel, accessories, and jewelry with an incredible embellishment. I picked up some gold-tone safety pins at my local hardware store.  Dollar Stores and Art stores carry as well.  Slip several pins together, creating clusters. Pin all over the collar and attached clusters to create a bold effect around your neck.  Get creative with colored safety pins and adorn other apparel and accessories! P.S.- Pin it to win it!
Denim on denim it a DO for Spring 2010.  The lovely ladies from Who What Wear and I both agree that Chloe’s cool and casual indigo layered look is one of the strongest trends of the season and we want IN! Style together for a full on runway repertoire or rock the patch-worked pieces separately.  Dig into your closet for medium and light wash jeans or pick up a new pair to embellish. Check out Forever 21 for a wide variety of denim and also over-sized Denim and Chambray shirts.  After cutting up your jeans into patches, pin and sew accordingly.  If you’re not the best seamstress or want to cut some corners- opt for fabric glue!  Just make sure you wait 72 hrs till dry and wash inside out. 
The lovely ladies from http://www.whowhatwear.com gave me a spectacular springtime summons for a Designer DIY that was inspired by the dashing duo, Proenza Schouler.  We both agree that the tie dye trend is full on and in the fashion house’s fore front. PANTONE named TURQUOISE as the color of 2010, which was the foundation for this vivid Surf infused Spring/Summer Collection, which left hearts pumping and toes tapping to try on.  I’m not only partial to Proenza because we share the same “PS” initials, but I truly admire the staggering talents of Jack and Lazaro as they continue to wow us season after season.  They just announced their online click-able shop http://www.proenzaschouler.com where we’re counting down seconds to snag a mini PS1 purse! DIY-klasszikus macskáknak és Audrey Hepburn rajongóknak!

Lilyvel belehabarodtunk a DIY ötletekbe. Ezért ezen a héten el lesztek halmozva ilyen dolgokkal. Most posztolok néhány képet különféle DIY ötletekről. Egyszerű, nagyszerű.

Unleash your inner Cat Power.  From  Charlotte Olympia’s cat heels and flats to Jason Wu’s Target collab mascot, we decided to jump on the bandwagon and pay homage to our feline friends with a delicious DIY.  Be fierce and show your feminine feline side with a DIY that’s purrrrrrrfect! To create:  cut out 2 triangles in black, that are slightly rounded, for the ears. Measure and cut out a smaller and contrasting shape for the inner ear.  Use the same fabric to create a nose shape.  Use either leather, suede, or any faux fabric you have.  Create a “face” with puffy paint drawing eyes onto a plain loafer. Be sure to use a different color puffy paint for the inside of eyes.  Glue ears onto the inside of the loafer with a glue gun.  Attach the nose and finish drawing the face by adding whiskers and a mouth.  Wait until puffy paint is completely dry before kicking up your heels and exercising your cat like reflects!
Step into the spotlight in the coolest of shades with a nod to retro Hollywood glamour. Tom Ford masters sexy chic with frames that bring stylish drama to any look, day or night. Make a statement and prove your future’s so bright with this purrrfect DIY. To create, re purpose an old pair of sunnies by adding a shapely accent. Decide on the shape and style for your pattern and trace onto paper. Create two of these and “test” on your sunglasses to make sure you’re happy with the shape and size. Trace the pattern onto a think black piece of fabric or leather.  Use glue to secure onto each frame.
Designer. Icon. Legend.  Just a few labels for Oscar de la Renta, the man behind the label.  Mr. de la Renta, a staple in the fashion industry, has always taken a sophisticated, graceful and extraordinarily daring approach to designing.  OdlR believes, “What’s most important to these women is individuality.  I have to create things she’ll want to wear, no matter who she is.”  And the man does just that.  Recently, Oscar’s SS12 show made waves in the digital world as well as on the runway.  Social Society’s leading lady aka Oscar PR Girl introduced #OdlrLive on Tumblr, proving that innovation oozes from his runway world, into the digital world, for the world.  Take a note from Oscar and embrace your own individuality, creativity and style.  What better way to do that, than to get inspired by a recent piece from his SS12 collection. P.S.- it’s tassel time! To create, round up a black tank top, tassels, needle and thread, and a pair of scissors.  Snip of the string loop at the top of your tassels and place onto the shirt to lay out your pattern.  P.S.- use a piece of chalk to mark if you need a guide.  Pierce the needle and thread through the top of the tassel head, and stitch onto the top layer of your shirt.  Stitch 3 or 4 times to secure, double knot and trim on the inside.  Continue to space out and sew onto shirt. DIY-papucsmánia

Miért költenél vagyonokat évről évre az épp aktuális trendeknek megfelelő, divatos papucsokra, nyári cipellőkre? Egy kis kreativitással magad is készíthetsz igazán egyedi és stílusos lábbelit, méghozzá otthon is hozzáférhető anyagokból, maradékokból, gyöngyszemekből stb.
1. Romantikus, gyöngyös

Évek óta nem megy ki a divatból a flip-flop, más néven vietnami, tanga vagy  lábujjközös papucs. Valóban kényelmes és könnyű viselet, én is nagy rajongója vagyok, számos darabot felhalmoztam már az évek során. Egy teljesen puritán, 1000 Ft-os strandpapucsból is varázsolhattok elegáns, nőcis darabot, méghozzá néhány igen egyszerű lépésben. (lásd a fenti képsort). Szép teklagyöngyök, ragasztópisztoly és keskeny szalag szükséges hozzá.

2. Tollas, borzas jószág

Tollas, de csak első ránézésre, mert igazából színes szalagdarabokra lesz szükség. A szalagok lehetnek azonos de akár eltérő méretűek és színűek is. Egyszerűen csak csomózzátok rá a pántokra tetszés szerinti hosszúságban.
5. Rockeres, fesztiválozós

Kicsit macerásabb az elkészítése, de néhány lépést le is egyszerűsíthettek. Szegecseket le lehet szedni a már hiányos övekről (nekem van vagy három ilyen övem), vagy ha elég vékony az öv, egy az egyben fel is használhatjátok. A régi, szekrény mélyén porosodó táskákról is kincseket lehet még leszedni, fogadni merek!

DIY-videók

Ezen a héten nem lesz sok időm, mert egyfolytában dolgozatokat írunk. Hétfőig ki kell így bírnom, tehát most csak pár DIY(avagy csináld magad) videóra futja. Remélem, azért tetszeni fog.
